Tekela Salaine Dobbs, 50, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, in her hometown of Amory, Mississippi. She was born on August 27, 1973, to the late Willie Lee Gilleylen and the late Mattie Lean Vassar.
Tekela will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband, Calvin Dobbs. Together, they shared a bond of love and companionship that will forever be cherished. Tekela was a dedicated wife who always put her family's needs before her own.
She leaves behind four wonderful children who were the light of her life: Lashad White and Michael Dobbs, her beloved sons; Courtney Monique White and Marquetta Dobbs, her cherished daughters. Tekela's children brought immeasurable joy into her life and she took great pride in nurturing their dreams and watching them grow into exceptional individuals.
In addition to her immediate family, Tekela leaves behind a legacy of siblings whose lives she touched deeply. Her brothers Lamonte Morrow, Erick Morrow, and Richard Earl Williams will forever remember the love and support she provided them throughout the years. Her sisters Eula Stein, Mary Nell Hankins, Elaine Baker, and Juanella Morrow Adams were not only siblings but also dear friends who shared countless memories with Tekela.
Tekela was a woman of faith and found solace in being a devoted member within the church. She found comfort and strength through her spirituality which guided her through life's challenges.
A visitation service will be held on Friday, November 24th, 2023 at East Amory Church Of Christ located at 1005 Boulevard Drive, Amory, Mississippi. The visitation will begin at 11:00 AM to allow loved ones to pay their respects to the late Tekela Salaine Dobbs. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 1:00 PM, providing an opportunity for friends and family to celebrate her life and honor her memory.
Tekela's contagious laughter, kind heart, and selflessness will be forever etched in the memories of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a beacon of light who embraced life's challenges with courage and grace. Her legacy will serve as an inspiration to us all to live our lives with love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to our loved ones.
May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
