Shawn Wesley Thomason

Shawn Wesley Thomason, 47, of Blue Springs, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026. Born on March 8, 1979, in New Albany, Mississippi, Shawn was the beloved son of Cynthia Sprouse and Charlie Thomason. He grew up in the community and went on to receive his GED from East Union School. Shawn lived life to the fullest and was a massive sports enthusiast his entire life. He passionately cheered on Duke and MSU for football, the Dodgers for baseball, and the Celtics for basketball. More than anything, Shawn loved spending time with his friends and family. Those who knew him will always remember his quick wit, high energy, and unwavering family dedication. Shawn is survived by his mother, Cynthia Sprouse; his stepfather, Stacey Sprouse; his sisters, Jazmen Jolly and Heather Sprouse; his nephews, Caleb and Eli; his nieces, Stormi and Kylie; and his aunt, Sharon Gore. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Thomason. A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held on May 31, 2026, at 2:00 PM at a family residence in Mooreville, Mississippi. Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend and share memories.
