Samuel E. Hughes, Jr., 68, beloved son, father, and friend, passed away on Wednesday,  February 14, 2024, at the Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born on March 26, 1955, in Okolona, Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

Samuel was a kind-hearted and compassionate man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He touched the lives of many with his warm smile and generous spirit. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends that can never be filled.

Samuel's life will be celebrated through two important events. On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, a visitation will be held at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Amory between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. This event will provide an opportunity for loved ones to pay their final respects to Samuel and extend their condolences to his grieving family.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Carter's Chapel Faith Temple in Amory at 12:00 PM noon. Family and friends will gather to honor Samuel's life and remember the impact he had on those around him. 

Samuel was the son of Samuel E. Hughes Sr. and Virginia White, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his cherished children: Demario Hughes (son) and Daryl Hall (son), and Denise Hall (daughter). His love for his children knew no bounds, and they were a source of immense pride and joy for him throughout his life.

Beyond being a dedicated father, Samuel was a loyal friend to many. His caring nature drew people towards him effortlessly. Those fortunate enough to call him a friend knew they had someone they could always rely on.

In addition to being a loving family man and a supportive friend, Samuel was known for his work ethic and determination. He approached every task, big or small, with unwavering dedication. His commitment to excellence led him to achieve great success in his professional endeavors and earned him the respect of his colleagues.

Samuel will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, which never failed to lighten any room he entered. His laughter was contagious, and he had a unique ability to find joy in even the most challenging situations. Those who shared moments of laughter with Samuel will hold those memories dear forever.
