In the warm embrace of a Mississippi autumn amid falling leaves and whispered memories, we take a moment to reflect on the life of Ruby Viola Smith, 79, whose spirit took flight on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Born on July 12, 1945, in quaint town of Aberdeen, Monroe County, Ruby was a beacon of love and resilience, illuminating the lives of those fortunate enough to know her Ruby's journey began as the cherished daughter of Jack White and Viola Linsey, whose nurturing hearts helped shape her into the extraordinary woman she became. From her earliest days, Ruby exhibited a warmth that drew people in, her laughter echoing like the sweet songs of summer. With a steadfast spirit, she embraced life's challenges, finding strength in her faith and community.
As we prepare to gather in celebration of Ruby’s remarkable life, we invite family and friends to come together for visitation on Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Amory, MS. Here, we will share stories, and tears, and of course, laughter, as we remember the beauty that was Ruby.
The following day, Friday, November 1, 2024, we will honor Ruby’s legacy with a Celebration of Life at Trinity Church Of God In Christ in Houston, MS, beginning at 1:00 PM.
As we bid farewell to Ruby, we hold close the memories of a beloved daughter, a treasured friend, and a source of light in every heart she touched. Though she has departed from this earthly plane, her spirit will continue to resonate in the softest whispers of the wind and the deepest echoes of our hearts. Ruby Viola Smith will forever remain in our thoughts, her legacy living on through the love she shared freely with others, a testament to the vibrant soul she was.
