Roosevelt Moore, 88, beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born on February 16, 1937, and lived a life filled with love, dedication, and hard work. Roosevelt had a long and storied career, having formerly worked at Eutaw Construction Company in Aberdeen, MS, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Johnnie Mae Reese - Moore, and their children: Garry Moore, Teresa Ward, Melissa Moore, Sarah Holliday, and Tracy Moore. Roosevelt cherished his family deeply and took immense pride in being a loving father, always providing guidance and support to his children. He is also survived by his brothers, Willie Moore, Eddie James Moore, and Andrew Moore, who will remember him for his kindness, humor, and the bonds of brotherhood they shared.
Roosevelt was preceded in death by his parents, Clopton Moore and Mary Frances Clay, whose love and values he carried throughout his life.
Visitation services for Roosevelt will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home, located at 216 Hwy 25 South, PO Box 129, Aberdeen, MS. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, starting at 1:00 PM, at 335 North Franklin Street, Aberdeen, MS.
Roosevelt Moore leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. His family and friends will carry fond memories of his laughter, his wisdom, and his unwavering support through all of life’s moments. He will be deeply missed.
