Oscar Crawford was born on November 20, 1929 in Amory,MS to Clifton and Cealia Haynes Crawford, the eight of twelve children. He accepted Christ at an early age under the direction of Rev Benjamin Harper at St. James Methodist Church. Mr. Crawford received his education at Monroe County Training School and served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953, where he was a private second class.

He was united in marriage to the former Yvonne white, who preceded hin in death. He lived in St Louis, MO and Chicago, IL, where he retired from the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company prior to returning home in recent years. After a short illness, Mr. Crawford passed away at Darlington Oaks Hospice in Verona, MS with his sister Louise, whom he affecionately called "Lou," by his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Maggie Lee, two sisters, Myrtle Crawford white and Ocean Crawford Logan, and three brothers, Jessie, Herbert, and Willmet.

Mr. Crawford leaves to mourn his passing one granddaughter, Joyce Lee; one great-granddaughter, Moynea Devrouax; one great-grandson, Ramon Devrouax all of St Louis, MO; six sisters, St Elmo "Ella" Crawford of Detroit, MI, Veraline Barnes, Bessie Crawford, and Louise Marshall (John) all of Amory,MS., Velma Jean Garner of Minneapolis, MN, Hyumm Ford of San Diego, CA; one aunt, Mary Thompson(Carl); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
