Monica S. Griffis - Avant, born on February 20, 1978, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025. Throughout her life, Monica was known for her unwavering kindness and warmth. She touched the hearts of many with her genuine spirit and compassion, leaving behind cherished memories for all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her departure has left a void in the lives of those who loved her dearly. Monica’s presence was a source of joy and comfort, and her ability to listen and offer support will be deeply missed by all who sought her counsel.

She is survived by her husband, Christopher Avant, two sons, Jaledric Crump and Stededric Griffis, one daughter, Pearlliyah Griffis, father, Johnny Griffin, one brother, Lamonte Griffis and one sister, Cassandra Griffis

Funeral service : Sunday, Nov 2, 2025 at Lower Prairie Creek M.B. Church at 1 p.m.

Visitation: Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025 from 12 p.m. - 1p.m. at Lower Prairie Creek before service
