Mikiylia Alexandria Guines, 7, a bright and joyful spirit, was born on September 5, 2018, in Starkville, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. With a heart full of dreams and a radiant smile, Mikiylia brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Tragically, she departed this world on Friday, January 9, 2026, in Cedar Bluff, Clay County, Mississippi.
In her short but impactful life, Mikiylia was a beloved daughter of Maurice Reliford and Lashanna Guines. She was cherished by her brothers, Jeremiah Lang and Kylan Guines, and her sisters, Tranaisja Guines, Kassidy Guines, and Chassidy Reliford. Her family was the cornerstone of her world, and they will carry her memory with deep love and affection.
As a student at Churchill Elementary School, Mikiylia approached her education with an eagerness to learn and grow. Her innocence and curiosity about the world around her shone through in her hobbies and interests, which included dancing, enjoying her favorite dolls, and immersing herself in all things Hello Kitty. A true embodiment of joy, her favorite color was pink, reflecting the vibrant and cheerful spirit she shared with those around her.
To honor Mikiylia's beautiful life, a visitation will be held at Northside Christian Church located at 125 Cottrell Street, West Point, MS, on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will also take place at the same location beginning at 12:00 PM. All are welcome to join in remembering and celebrating the bright light that Mikiylia was to us all.
Though her time on this earth was far too brief, Mikiylia Alexandria Guines will forever be remembered for her infectious laughter, imaginative spirit, and the love she spread to her family and friends. Her legacy is one of love, joy, and cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of many.
