Mary Anna Burns, 77, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Born on March 30, 1948, in Aberdeen, Monroe County, MS, she lived a life characterized by love, strength, and compassion.
Mary was the cherished wife of William Patrick, with whom she shared many joyful years. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with warmth and laughter. As a dedicated mother, she took great pride in her daughters, Nicole Burns and Pershell Walker, instilling in them the values of kindness and resilience that she embodied throughout her life.
Mary was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Sam Earl Pruitt and Mary Lee Dilworth-Pruitt, who laid the foundation for her strong character and gentle spirit. Their guidance and love shaped the woman she became, and their memory will continue to inspire her family.
The community is invited to honor Mary Anna Burns during her visitation on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service beginning at 1:00 PM. Both events will take place at Carter's Chapel Church Of The Living God, located at 1509 Hatley Road, Amory, MS 38821.
Mary's legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, who will remember her for her unwavering support, her infectious smile, and her ability to uplift those around her.
