With deep respect and loving remembrance, we honor the life of Mary Helen Berry, 77, who passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Born on January 24, 1949, in Tupelo, Lee County, Mississippi, Mary graced the lives of all who knew her with warmth, kindness, and a quiet strength that will long be cherished by those she leaves behind.

Mary Helen Berry’s journey began in the heart of Mississippi, where she was born to her beloved parents, Charlie Pope and Elnora Holden, both of whom preceded her in death. Through their guidance and love, Mary grew into a woman of remarkable character, carrying within her the values of honesty, compassion, and resilience.

Throughout her life, Mary’s presence was a steady source of comfort and encouragement to her family, friends, and community. While her parents’ legacy influenced much of her upbringing, Mary forged her own path, touching many with her gentle spirit and unwavering integrity.

Mary's passing is deeply felt by all who had the honor of knowing her. In remembering her, we also acknowledge those who came before—her father, Charlie Pope, and her mother, Elnora Holden—whose spirits no doubt welcomed her with open arms.

Friends, family, and members of the community are invited to honor Mary’s life and pay their respects during visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Ecru, located at 367 Main Street, Ecru, Mississippi. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the same location, offering an opportunity for all to reflect on Mary’s enduring legacy and the profound ways she touched the lives of those around her. Following these services, Mary will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery, 2219 Dorsey-Evergreen Road, Fulton, Mississippi.
