Martha Benford Mitchell

Martha Benford Mitchell, born on July 17th, 1937 in Mississippi, passed away on June 4th, 2023 at North MS Medical Center. She was a loving wife, sister and a dear member of her community.

Throughout her life, Martha had numerous interests and hobbies. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, spending time with the church and loved nothing more than working with children. Her love for children was evident not only through her hobbies but also as a member of Order of the Eastern Star.

Martha will always be remembered by her friends and family as a kind-hearted individual who had an unmatched generosity in her heart. Always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the need or hour of the day, Martha's warm spirit left an imprint on everyone she met.

Martha is survived by her husband Samuel Mitchell; brother William Benford; sisters Cozie Bailey, Hervet Days and Bobbie Walton. They all hold cherished memories of Martha close to their hearts which they will never forget.

To celebrate and cherish the life of Martha Benford Mitchell, there will be two services held in her honor. The visitation will take place on June 8th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home located at 216 Hwy 25 South, PO Box 129 in Aberdeen. Her funeral service will be held on June 9th starting at 11:00 AM with the viewing starting at 10:00 AM at New Hebron M B Church- Egypt Road on Egypt Rd in Aberdeen.

Martha was a remarkable presence in everyone's life who knew her. Her compassionate spirit and selflessness have left an indelible mark on their lives forever.

May she rest in peace for eternity.
