Mae Sue Beeks, a resident of Amory, MS, passed away peacefully on May 14th at NMMC-Amory. She was born on June 28th, 1926 in Amory to Frankie Meaders and Rovellas Stegall. Mae spent the majority of her working years as a baker at East Amory High School, Stockton Catering Services and Hatley Garment Factory
Outside of work, Mae was an active member of St. Paul CME Church, where she served on the pastor's aid committee, choir, usher board, stewardess team, and as a member of the missionary society. Through these roles and many others throughout her life, Mae developed many strong relationships with members of her community.
A visitation will be held on May 19th from 11 am to 1 pm at St. Paul CME Church in Smithville followed by a funeral service at the same location at 1 p. m. All are welcome to attend and pay their respects.
Mae is survived by her son, Carl Edward Beeks Jr. (Carolyn), daughters Clemetine Lowe, Kate McGruder (William), Jealoustine Beeks, and Gloria Kennedy, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her.
Throughout her life, Mae was known for her kind heart, loving nature, and delicious baked goods. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her love and warmth - from family members to coworkers to members of her church community - leaving an indelible impact on all those who knew her.
