Lola Mae Avery - Jenkins, 80, a cherished and respected member of her community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Applingwood Acute Care in Cordova, Tennessee. Born to the union of the late Bonnie Standifer and Glady Mae White - Standifer on May 21, 1945, in Smithville, Monroe County, Mississippi, Lola Mae lived a life marked by grace, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family and faith.
Her journey began in the quiet town of Smithville, where she was nurtured by the close ties of family and community, values she carried throughout her lifetime. Known for her compassion and warm spirit, Lola Mae touched many lives with her kindness and steadfast support.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Gerald Standifer, Bradley Avery, and Bryant O'Neal Avery, who carry forward her legacy of love and resilience. Lola Mae’s brothers, Joseph Standifer and Rome Barnes, also mourn the loss of their beloved sister, honoring her through shared memories and enduring bonds.
A visitation will take place to honor Lola Mae’s memory on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life starting at 11:00 a.m. Both gatherings will be held at Carter's Chapel Church Of The Living God, located at 1509 Hatley Road, Amory, Mississippi. These moments offer an opportunity for family, friends, and all who knew her to come together in reflection and gratitude for the life she led.
