Lois Jean Dorrough

Lois Jean Dorrough, 71, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Born on October 28, 1954, in Okolona, Chickasaw County, Mississippi, Lois Jean Dorrough will be remembered with love by those who knew her and shared in her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Gunn, and her mother, Essie Lee Taylor.

Lois leaves behind a circle of family who will cherish her memory: Ineser Buckhalter, Yolanda Snow, Ruby Brownlee, and Kayla Dorrough (Daughters); Mickey Buckhalter, James Buckhalter, Doc Buckhalter, and John Gunn (Brothers). Their lives were touched by her presence, and her memory will remain close to them in the days and years ahead.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (FAMILY); and 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. (PUBLIC) at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce, located at 138 E. Washington St, Bruce, Mississippi 38915. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Jolly Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1174 County Road 410, Okolona, Mississippi 38860. The burial will take place at Jolly Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, also in Okolona.
