Lois Jean Clay, 83, a beloved caregiver and cherished member of her community, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Aberdeen, Mississippi. She was born on August 11, 1942, in West Point, Clay County, Mississippi. Lois lived a life dedicated to nurturing and supporting those around her, embodying the true spirit of compassion and kindness that defined her career as a caregiver.
Lois was the proud daughter of Johnny L. Smith and Mary Lou Harris, both of whom have preceded her in death. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Sandra Walker, and her caring sister, Bessie Patterson, special friend, Walter Crawford. The bonds formed in her family were a source of great strength and love throughout her life.
A visitation to honor Lois's life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Mississippi. Following this, a Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, also in Aberdeen. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Lois are invited to gather and share in their fond memories of her.
