Lillie Mae Word, 109, born on March 22, 1916, in Aberdeen, Monroe County, Mississippi, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Shearer Richardson Memorial Nursing Home in Okolona, Mississippi. She lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family and the community she cherished.

Lillie Mae embraced her role as a housewife and farmer, embodying the values of hard work, dedication, and love for the land. She nurtured her family and worked tirelessly to create a warm and welcoming home. Her strong spirit and resilience were a testament to her character and left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Lillie Mae was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Walter Garth (Father) and Annie Springer (Mother). Their guidance and love shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.

In celebration of her remarkable life, family and friends are invited to honor Lillie Mae during a visitation at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Okolona on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will be held at the same location, starting at 1:00 PM. The church is located at 20404 McAllister Road, Okolona, MS 38860.

Lillie Mae Word leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will be remembered by all who had the privilege to know her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, as they cherish the memories of a life well-lived.
