Lafarris Shaquille Barker

Lafarris Shaquille Barker, 31, born on April 22, 1994, in Lowndes County, MS, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Columbus, MS. He is remembered as a beloved son, devoted father, and cherished brother.

Lafarris was the son of Kerry Howard, Sr. (father) and Debra Barker (mother), who provided him with a foundation of love and support in his life. He took great pride in being a father to his son, Jacob Barker, and his daughters, Madisyn Barker and Onyx Barker; bonus daughter, Legacy Roberson; His children were the light of his life, and he created countless memories with them that they will cherish forever.

As the youngest sibling, Lafarris was surrounded by an extensive family who loved him dearly.  He leaves behind his fiancee', Kirsten Hairston; his bonus father, Frederick Fields, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Albert and Debbie Barker; and his close friend, Levelle Grandberry. He is survived by his brothers, Tarvis Howard, Kerry Howard, Jr., Casey Quinn, Frederic Fields, Jr., and Cayden Rice, along with his sisters, Reonna Barker, Ariel Howard, Ronshell Bell, Kamya Howard, and Yasmine Howard. Each of them holds a special place in their hearts for Lafarris, remembering him not only as a brother but as a confidant and friend. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Annie Love.

Lafarris's warmth and kindness extended beyond his immediate family. He made lasting connections with many throughout his community, leaving a positive impact on those who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.

A visitation will be held at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen, MS, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Family), followed by a second visitation from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Public). A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM, also at Belle Memorial Funeral Home, allowing family and friends to come together to honor and celebrate Lafarris's life and legacy.

Lafarris Shaquille Barker will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those who loved him.
