John Henry Brownlee, 71, a dedicated farmer and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Diversicare in Tupelo, MS. Born on October 2, 1954, in Vardaman, he spent his life rooted in the rich soil of his hometown, nurturing the land with the same care and steadfastness that defined his character.
John’s passion for farming was not merely a vocation but a testament to his deep connection to the community he loved. Through years of diligent work, he cultivated both crops and friendships, leaving an indelible mark on those who shared in his life’s journey.
A visitation to honor John’s memory will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Midway Missionary Baptist Church, located at 950 Hwy 341 South, Vardaman, MS 38878. This will be followed by a celebration of life service beginning at 1:00 PM at the same location, where family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to come together, reflecting on the warmth, humility, and enduring spirit that John embodied.
