With heavy hearts and in loving remembrance, we announce the passing of Jakiya Latavia Smith, 26, who departed this life on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Aberdeen, Mississippi. Born on May 28, 2000, in the warmth of Amory, Monroe County, Mississippi, Jakiya’s journey in this world was marked by kindness, resilience, and a spirit that touched everyone she met.

Jakiya grew up surrounded by the enduring landscapes and close-knit community of Amory. Those who knew her will remember her for her gentle strength, unshakeable optimism, and unwavering compassion for others. She remained rooted in her hometown, firmly connected to the people and places that shaped her into a beloved presence among family, friends, and all who crossed her path.

The community is invited to honor Jakiya’s memory and celebrate her life. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Victory Temple Outreach Ministries.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Temple Outreach Ministries, located at 1200 Victory Temple Drive, Amory, MS. Afterward, Jakiya will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens, 1207 United Memorial Drive, Amory, Mississippi.

Although her time with us was brief, Jakiya Latavia Smith’s legacy endures through the hearts she warmed and the lives she influenced. Her memory will remain a guiding light for all who were fortunate to know her.
