It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glenda Nell Pierce, who left us on June 17, 2023, at the Baptist Calhoun Nursing Home, at the age of 76. Glenda will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Glenda was born on November 5, 1946 in Calhoun City, Mississippi. She was the daughter of hardworking parents who instilled in her a strong work ethic that she carried throughout her life. Glenda attended South Calhoun High School and after graduation embarked on a career as a seamstress with Kellwood Manufacture. After many years of dedicated service, Glenda retired and enjoyed spending time with loved ones.
Glenda was a loving mother to Timothy Pierce, Andrea Pierce Bolden, Gloria Pierce, and Patricia Pierce. She also cherished time spent with her four brothers, Frank, Lyndale, Danny, Barry Corbitt and sister Mary Cole. Her family meant the world to her.
In addition to being a devoted mother and sibling, Glenda was known for her passion for quilting and making homemade ice cream and fried pies. Her masterpieces were beloved by all who had the pleasure of trying them.
A visitation will be held on June 23rd at Church of the Living God located at 136 Willis Avenue in Calhoun City from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. The funeral service is set to begin at 11:00 AM immediately following visitation hours on June 23rd at Church of the Living God as well.
