Geneva Blaylock was the daughter of the late Jeanette and Anthony Blaylock. She was born on May 12,1959 in Chicago,Illinois and entered eternal life on July 3,2012. She was the youngest daughter of 11 siblings and was lovingly referred to by all as "Baby Sis" & "Ne-Ne".
As a child, her family migrated to Aberdeen,Mississippi and there she received her early education. She accepted Christ and was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Montgomery Sr. where she served as a member for many years.
In the summer of 1972, Geneva and her sister Ella Bee moved Minneapolis,MN and were raised by their aunt,Mrs. Geraldine Reece. This special bond made the two sisters inseparable. Geneva realized early on as a young woman that she had to take initiative and ownership of her life. She continued her education and graduated from Central High School in Saint Paul,MN.
Geneva's priorities in life were her faith in God and love of her children and by the fall of 2004 she returned home to Aberdeen to build a beautiful home for them. She took pride in raising her sons,Justin,Hanson, and Justo and maintained a close bond to her grandchildren,Demetri and Londin whom she loved very much.
Baby Sis was a caregiver to whoever needed her loving direction at their time of need. If you were hungry she fed you, if you were homeless she housed you and if you didn't have a smile she gave you hers.
Ne-Ne loved with her heart but was "extremely shy" even around people she knew, In fact, there was rarely a time she went without her signature sunglasses. Our Kindest memories are how she answered you with a...."Uh Huh-Uh Huh" and all you could do was smile.
For what she did not say,she expressed through her favorite pastime, the love for cooking Soul Food. People throughout the community would as her to cook for them and she was known for her legendary caramel cake and pea salad.
In her life she faced many adversities but there was never really a physical challenge or a personal situation that she could not overcome. As a staunch believer in power of prayer, she devoted several hours each day asking God's blessings for family, friends, and those in need. She will truly be missed by all.
Geneva Blaylock parents preceded her in death, one brother,William Pruitt, two sisters,Mae Eva Robinson and Gladys Hale. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her three sond,Justin Blaylock,Hanson Garth,Jr.and Justo Garth, two grandchildren,
