Eziah Joe Simpson, 76, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in his hometown of Aberdeen, Mississippi, where he was born on March 25, 1949. Eziah will be remembered for his warm spirit and passion for life, particularly his love of fishing, which brought him immense joy and relaxation.

Eziah leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother, Eva Mae Metcalf. He was the cherished father of Jerry Simpson and Elisha Joell Simpson, who both deeply admired his kindness and wisdom. Eziah was a treasured brother, remembered fondly by his siblings Kenneth Ray Johnson, Elzie Johnson, and Terry Johnson, as well as his sisters Eva Black, Betty Chandler, Irene Vasser, Mildred Ewing, Allison Carr, and Beverly Johnson.

Eziah is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Simpson, Sr., and one son, Gregory Simpson.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen, MS. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same location, commencing at 1:00 PM.

Eziah Joe Simpson leaves a rich legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories, and he will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
