Deacon DC Wilson, 89, a beloved father and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Okolona, Mississippi. Born on March 15, 1937, in Clay County, Mississippi, DC lived a life defined by steadfast dedication, integrity, and quiet strength.
Throughout his long and industrious life, DC remained deeply rooted to his Mississippi origins. He was the proud son of Mason Wilson and Emma G. Taylor, both of whom preceded him in death. From his formative years in Clay County, DC developed the values that would guide him throughout his life: hard work, humility, and loyalty to family.
DC’s working years were spent as a Shipping Receiver at Sun Chemicals, where he was known for his unwavering reliability and diligence. Colleagues and friends remember him as someone who approached every task with care and steadiness, always willing to lend a helping hand or share gentle wisdom when asked.
Above all, DC cherished his family. He is survived by his loving daughters: Teresa Barr, Sandri Jean Simmons, and Mattie Melton. They remember him as a steady presence in their lives—always supportive, always encouraging, and always quick with a listening ear. His devotion to his family leaves an enduring legacy and countless cherished memories.
DC’s passing is deeply felt by those whose lives he touched. His memory will forever be honored in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege to know him.
