Carolyn Lynetha Williams-Harris was born on December 22, 1951 in Calhoun County, Mississippi to the late Leonard Taylor and Odessa Daniel Williams. She departed this life December 17, 2011.

Carolyn joined Jackson Chapel MB in 1962 under the leadership of Rev. Battiest. She remained a faithful member until she became debilitated.

Carolyn attended Bruce Colored School. After graduating high school at North Calhoun County High, she attended Alcorn State University where she earned a Bachelors Degree. She continued her graduate studies at the University of Mississippi from which she received a Masters Degree in Communicative Disorders-Speech Pathology. Carolyn was an avid reading; she loved poetry and song writing.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Ashley Odessa Harris and five siblings; Norma Madkins (Bruce,MS); Willie Mae Coppage(Redland,CA), Leonard Taylor, Sarah,(Clinton,MS); David Taylor(Bruce,MS)Toni Taylor(Brooklyn,NY);six grandchildren; Rakeen Harris,Jordan Gladney, Ashuntay Harris, Korique Pierce, Ashton Pierce, C'nia Harris; two uncles, Leroy Daniel(Bruce,MS), Derrick Daniel (Jane Ella) Memphis,TN; a special cousin Louise Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Earl Williams; a sister, Doretha Williams and a special aunt, Everda Daniel Harris.
