Annie Bell Garth

With profound respect and deep affection, we honor the life of Annie Bell Garth, 78, who passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on February 4, 1948, in Gibson, Monroe County, Mississippi, Annie lived a life rich in love, devotion, and quiet accomplishment.

Annie was the cherished daughter of Willie Lee Lucas (Father) and Julia Evans Lucas (Mother), both of whom preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her sons, Robert D. Garth, II. and Travis Donta Garth; her Brother, Willie Lee Lucas, II; and her Sisters, Barbara Cook, Geraldine Cooperwood, and Cynthia Lucas. She is lovingly remembered by her children: her devoted Sons, Willie Lee (Arletha) Lucas III and Cubby Garth, and her treasured Daughters, Yolanda Garth, Vanessa (Tremayne) Calvert, and Glenda Garth. Annie’s family circle also includes her dear Brothers, Willie C. Lucas and Robert L. Lucas, as well as special Sisters who held important places in her life: Susie Buchanan, Hilda Lenoir, Willie Mae Daniels (Dale), Brenda McGee, Doris Lucas, and a special friend, Theotis Anderson.

Throughout her life, Annie was known for her nurturing spirit and deep connection to both her family and her community. She found beauty in everyday joys, particularly through her passion for gardening and flowers. The vibrant blooms she lovingly cultivated were a testament to her gentle hands and patient heart. Annie delighted in sharing delicious meals, her kitchen often filled with the aromas of home-cooked food made with care for those she loved. Her affection for hats added a signature flourish to her presence—graceful, elegant, and always uniquely her.

Annie’s legacy is carried forward by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She touched countless lives with kindness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to her family’s well-being. The memories she leaves behind are a source of comfort and inspiration, a gentle reminder of the strength and beauty she embodied every day.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Annie at several upcoming services. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM (FAMILY), and from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM (PUBLIC) at Belle Memorial Funeral Home, located at 216 Hwy 25 South, Aberdeen, Mississippi. Her life will be celebrated in a service at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 20622 Egypt Road, Aberdeen, Mississippi, beginning at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Annie will be laid to rest at Baptist Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 10025 Baptist Grove Road, Prairie, Mississippi.
