Alyssa Bridgett Vaughn, 40, departed this life on Friday, August 28, 2026, in Nettleton, Mississippi. She was born on September 2, 1985, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

Alyssa was born in Illinois and raised in Nettleton, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Joe Bigby and Gloria Longstreet of Illinois. She was lovingly raised by her adopted parents, Earliedree Vaughn and Charles Vaughn of Nettleton, Mississippi, who helped shape the woman she became.

Alyssa was a devoted mother whose greatest joy in life was her two sons, Isaiah Vaughn and Eric Townsend Jr. (JoJo). Her sons were her pride and joy and meant everything to her. Everything she did throughout her life was for them. Her love and devotion to her sons was evident to everyone who knew her.

Alyssa was also a woman of faith and was involved with her church. She found meaning in being part of her church family and in her relationship with God. She was a hardworking woman who was a crew member at Burger King and took pride in doing what she could for her family.

Alyssa will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Isaiah Vaughn and Eric Townsend Jr. (Jo Jo); her brothers, DeMarlo Longstreet of Illinois and Laverrance West of Illinois; her sisters, LaSharon Wilson of Oklahoma and Shalanna West of Illinois; and a host of extended family members, friends, and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her birth father, Joe Bigby; her birth mother, Gloria Longstreet; her adopted parents, Earliedree Vaughn and Charles Vaughn; and her sister, Jantrece Bigby.

Alyssa's life was a gift to those who knew her. Though her time on earth was far too short, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the devotion she had for her sons will live on. Her sons, Isaiah and Jo Jo, are her legacy, the living reflection of her love, her strength, and the life she dedicated herself to building for them. Through them, her memory and the love she poured into their lives will continue for generations to come. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. Rest peacefully, Alyssa. Your love will continue to live through your sons and everyone whose life you touched.
