Alma Jane Spratt, 90, a beloved figure and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Humboldt Park Hospital in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Born on July 21, 1935, to the late Albert Little (Father) and Marilou Mitchell (Mother), Alma’s life was filled with moments of kindness, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Her contributions to her family and friends were immeasurable, creating a legacy built on love and compassion. Alma’s warmth and ability to connect with others made her a reliable confidante and friend. She was a guiding light to many, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a comforting word. She was preceded in death by her husband: Clarence Spratt; one Daughter: Diane Spratt Hampton; one Son: Clarence Edward Spratt; three Brothers: Willie Lee Troupe, Albert Little, and J.B. Little; one Sister: Merilene Gilleylen; and one Granddaughter: Monica Patrice Spratt.
Alma leave to cherish her memories: one Daughter: Gladys Lee of Chicago, Illinois; two Sons: Johnny E. Spratt of Aberdeen, MS, and Thomas (Theresa) Spratt of Russellville, Kentucky; 10 Grandchildren: Frank Howard, Diantee Lee, Joseph Hampton, Leroy Spratt, Chalanda Spratt, Paterick Spratt, Diana Brown, Johnny Spratt, Jr., Clarence Spratt, Jr., and McLathan Walton; 21 Great-Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great-Grandchildren; a host of Nieces, Nephews, Relatives and Friends.
Alma's celebration of life will take place at Smith Chapel Holiness Church, located at 50068 Burr Road, Aberdeen, MS 39730. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 12:00 PM. This gathering will honor her memory and reflect upon the joyful times shared with family and friends.
As we remember Alma J. Spratt, we celebrate a life well-lived and the indelible impact she left on those around her. Her spirit will continue to inspire, reminding us of the importance of community and the power of love.
